There is a “barrel shape (a side view of a barrel of liqueur)” dial shape that has been frequently used over the years. Its four corners have been slightly removed, and by fitting the glass in with this, the whole watch gives an impression of softness. As with the glass, the shapes of 12 bars were changed to parallelograms to follow the barrel shape and were lengthened vertically; looking closely, five kinds of shapes can be seen. The natural wraparound corners of the minute scale are also something that is considered “proper.” The diamond cut applied to the bars and the hands is an important method in imparting the watch with light so as to heighten viewability.

The cut of both sides of the glass were intentionally widened. Unlike the minimum cutting for “crack prevention” that is applied to all glass parts, this cutting proves effective in making the dials brighter and generates a visual flow to the band. Looking at the wearability and the fact that a high level of technology is required in developing the movement, “thinness” is one of the important values of the watch. Both the case and the band were made thinner, and the back plate was chamfered and integrated with the case for comfort.
