With this year’s project, each designer interpreted Quartz Astron in his or her own way, some reflecting back on SEIKO's approach to creation at that time, and others re-interpreting Quartz Astron for today's world. The 40 works you see here are an eclectic collection of designs that celebrate the 40 years of quartz.
When you look at these new Astron's with their different shapes, tones and colors - small, medium and large, red, white and blue; understated, mainstream and flamboyant - we hope you will enjoy these 40 years marking each and every second with its distinctive and precise one second steps, one for each of the 1,262,304,024 seconds that have passed since the Quartz Astron arrived on the world scene.
